CINCINNATI -- Multiple Wayne State University men's and women's fencing student-athletes competed at the February North American Cup at the Duke Energy Convention Center.
On the men's side,
Connor Desautels (Redding, Conn. / Joel Barlow),
Gabriel Dumoulin (Newtown, Conn.),
Mitchell Gatrell (Livonia, Mich. / Churchill),
Sam Gneuhs (Mason, Ohio William Mason), and
Finn McIsaac (West Bloomfield, Mich.) competed.
BELOW ARE THE RESULTS
Div-1 Men's Sabre
Dumoulin - 4-3 overall
Desautels - 1-5 overall
Div-1 Men's Foil
Gatrell - 4-3 overall (+6 in pool)
McIsaac - 1-5 overall
Gneuhs - 0-6 overall
Junior Men's Sabre
Dumoulin - 4-3 overall (+9 in pools)
Junior Men's Foil
McIsaac - 4-4 overall
Ludovica Mancini (Rome, Lazio, Italy / Liceo Linguistico Niccolò Machiavelli) was the only member of the women's squad to compete. She tallied a 2-5 overall ledger in the Div-1 Women's Foil.
UP NEXT
The men's and women's fencing squads will travel to Granville, Ohio, to the campus of Denison University for the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) Championships on Satruday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22. The event will be held in the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
