DETROIT -- The No. 23-ranked Wayne State University men's tennis team will begin its regular season at home, welcoming Walsh University to the Doris J. and Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility on Friday, February 6.  The match is slated to begin at 12:00 PM.

WSU's contests last week against Drury University and Rockhurst University at UIndy were canceled.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green and Gold went 2-1 in exhibition matches, defeating Huntington University (4-0) and Lawrence Tech University (7-0), but falling at Western Michigan University (5-2).

MATCH OUTLOOK
Walsh earned a pair of wins last weekend, defeating Daemen University (7-0) and Edinboro University (5-2).  Last season, the Cavaliers collected a 10-12 overall ledger, advancing to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Semifinals, where the team was bested 4-3 by Tiffin University.

2024-25 Second Team All-G-MAC selection Joan Dasi returns for WU for his junior campaign.  Bryan Whittaker is in his 14th season at the helm for Walsh, helping the men's squad to a 129-158 ledger and earned G-MAC Co-Coach of the Year following the 2021-22 campaign in which the Cavaliers finished 15-10.
