Women's Swim & Dive Concludes 2026 NCAA Championships

Wayne State was represented by Elly Belmore, Diana Muccioli and Alicia Viaches during the five days.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team concluded it's five-day stay at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Saturday night inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center.  The Warriors placed 30th in the 35-team field with seven points scored.

"Our trio did a great job," said Head Coach Sean Peters.  "I am not going to lie, I was worried that we might not score this year.  However, Elly [Belmore] found a way in the 400 IM and Alicia [Viaches] in one-meter diving.  Diana [Muccioli] was also very close to it as well, as she got her best times in both 1000 and 1650 freestyles -- so we really did everything we could.  With Elly and Diana being seniors, these are big shoes to fill -- both with what they brought to our team on the pool deck and their drive to be successful outside of the pool.  Man, I will miss them both along with our other seniors, but happy that they went out here at NCAA's and performed their best."
