Women's Track Adds Two Sprinters And A Hurdler

Pollydore, Sinclair and Young have joined the Warriors.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's track and field squad has added three freshmen to complete its 2026-27 roster. Joining the Warriors this fall were sprinters Kimara Pollydore (Ajax, Ont. / Bill Crothers S.S.) and Celina Sinclair (Olivet, Mich.) as well as hurdler Aaliyah Young (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Central).

High School: A 2025 graduate of Bill Crothers Secondary School in Unionville, Ont. ... competed in the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) ... finished seventh in the 400m dash at the 2026 Ontario U-20 championships ... posted personal-best times of 25.61 for 200m (at the 2026 Johnny Loaring Classic in Windsor) and 57.58 for 400m (at the 2026 Flying Angels International Track & Field Classic in Brampton) ... recorded a personal-best 60m indoor time of 7.89 at the 2026 Canadian U20 Indoor Championships in Toronto ... attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School (one year), Bill Crothers Secondary School (three years) and Ajax High School (for Grade 13) ... also participated in basketball ... served as a basketball team captain in 2024 ... runs during the summer for Canada Elite and the Speed Academy Athletics.

Celina Sinclair, 5-9, Fr., Olivet, Mich. / Olivet

Celina competed against a few of her incoming teammates at the state meet in many of the sprint events. We are excited to see her grow in her time here at Wayne State."
