Nine Members of the Fencing Program Garner All-CCFC Accolades

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's women's fencing teams had nine student-athletes voted All-CCFC (Central Collegiate Fencing Conference), as announced by the league.

The five men's fencing student-athletes that were voted All-CCFC were Mahmoud Elsayed (Tanta, Gharbia, Egypt), Shuayb Dinkins (Kissimmee, Fla. / Lincoln Park / Celebration),Finn McIsaac (West Bloomfield, Mich.),Lukas Tsao (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), and Eyad Marouf (Alexandria, Egypt).

The four women's fencing student-athletes that garnered all-conference recognition were Reka Galfalvy (Budapest, Hungary), Salma Abdrabou (Cairo, Egypt), Ludovica Mancini (Rome, Lazio, Italy), and Anabella Acurero Gonzalez (Valencia, Venezuela).

Elsayed was named to the All-CCFC First Team in men's epee for the second-straight season after placing first in the individual portion of the CCFC Championships for the second time in as many years.  The sophomore tallied a 62-13 ledger, including a 14-1 mark during the individual portion of the conference championships, and a 10-1 record during the team portion.

Dinkins was voted to the All-CCFC Second Team in men's epee after earning honorable mention recognition last season.  The senior has posted a 43-45record this season, helping the men's epee team to a third-place finish at the conference championships.

McIsaac earned Second Team All-CCFC honors in men's foil.  The freshman went 38-53, including a 12-11 ledger across the two days of the CCFC Championships, helping the men's foil team to a second-place finish.

Tsao finished seventh overall in men's foil during the individual portion of the CCFC Championships, posting an 8-5 mark during the Sunday competition.  The freshman added a 3-3 record during the team portion of the event.  Overall this season, Tsao posted a 42-45 record, earning Second Team in men's foil.

Marouf was voted First Team All-CCFC after an impressive campaign in which he went 57-29, including a 10-1 mark during the individual portion of the the league championships, finishing tied-for-third in men's foil.  It is his fourth All-CCFC nod, including three times on the First Team.  Marouf has totaled 339 wins in his career, making him the all-time leader in career bout wins in men's sabre.

Galfalvy earned her third All-CCFC distinction in as many years, and made her third-consecutive appearance on the First Team.  The junior won the individual portion of the women's epee at this year's conference championships, totaling a 24-4 overall record at the CCFC Championships.  Galfalvy is now the program leader in career wins in the women's epee category, as the WSU student-athlete has tallied 273 bout wins following the NCAA Midwest Regionals.

Abdrabou collected her third all-conference nod as well, garnering First Team All-CCFC recognition this season after being named Honorable Mention the previous two seasons.  She has posted a 71-21 record this year, including a 18-9 ledger at the conference championships, finishing second individually.

Mancini has been selected All-CCFC in each of her four years at Wayne State, including a Second-Team distinction her freshman campaign, a First-Team nod her sophomore year, an Honorable-Mention bid last year, and First-Team honors this year.  The senior has posted 357 career bout wins, becoming the all-time leader in wins in program history in women's foil.

Acurero Gonzalez was voted to the All-CCFC Second Team for her first all-conference honor.  The sophomore has posted a 60-15 record this season, posting a 23-6 record at the CCFC championships, finishing tied-for-third during the individual portion of the women's foil.

The NCAA will announce its selections for the 2026 NCAA Championships on Tuesday, March 10, on NCAA.com. The University of Notre Dame will host the championships at the Joyce Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.
