Men's Tennis Third in Most Recent NCAA Regional Poll

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team is the No. 3-ranked squad in the Midwest in the latest iteration of the NCAA Regional Rankings.  This is the final regional ranking before the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, May 4, at 8:00 PM.

Coming off a runner-up finish at the GLIAC Tournament Championship, the Warriors improve their standing by two places after being ranked fifth last week.  The Green and Gold is joined by two member institutions from the GLIAC, as conference rivals Ferris State (second) and Grand Valley State (fifth) are represented as well.

The NCAA Midwest Regional will consist of eight teams, with the top-two seeds each hosting a sub-regional.  The first round in slated for Monday, May 11, with the second round on Tuesday, May 12.

ITA RANKINGS UPDATE
In addition, the Intercollegiate Tennis Associaiton (ITA) released its newest rankings.  Wayne State stayed put in the poll, as the No. 20-ranked squad in the country.  Graduate student Luis Klaus (Brühl, Germany / Archbishop's St. Ursula gymnasium [TH Köln]) is ranked 37th nationally in singles, and third in the region.
