Second-Seeded Wayne State Baseball Set for GLIAC Tournament

The four-day event will have a new venue, UWM Field in Utica, Mich.

DETROIT -- The regular season has come and gone for the 14th-ranked Wayne State University baseball team (35-12 overall) and the postseason is here in the form of the GLIAC Tournament.  The Warriors drew the two seed and will first face fifth-seeded Parkside (24-23 overall) on Thursday morning at 11 a.m.

The Green and Gold are looking for their third GLIAC Tournament Championship in program history and first since the 2023 season.  Last season was not for a lack of effort, however, as WSU advanced to the finals as a three seed, before dropping an 11-inning heartbreaker to Davenport on the final day of the tournament.

COACH'S CORNER
"This tournament embraces everything the GLIAC conference represents ... toughness, competitiveness and student-athletes striving to be the best," said head coach Ryan Kelley.  "We look forward to the challenge ahead while embracing the opportunity to compete together as one.  A sincere thank you to the USPBL and support staff for hosting this year's tournament.  The USPBL is a great league and the GLIAC Tournament will showcase excellent players from our conference who will one day suit up at UWM Field following their NCAA tenure."
