Women's Swimming and Diving Places 15 On GLIAC All-Academic Teams

The women's team has had 133 academic honorees over the last eight seasons.

DETROIT -- Fifteen (15) members of the 2025-26 Wayne State University women's swimming and diving squad were recognized with GLIAC All-Academic honors. Head Coach Sean Peters' women's team has had 133 academic honorees over the last eight seasons.

Criteria states that student-athlete must be an active member on their respective sport roster at the end of the season, and not a true freshman or a first-year transfer student.

Grade-point averages listed are calculated through the fall semester since that was the last grading period before the season ended.

Fourteen (14) of the 15 student-athletes recognized by the conference were on the All-Academic Excellence Team for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. They were senior Elly Belmore (St. Clair Shores, Mich. / Lakeview), sophomore Emma Crispo (Bergamo, Italy / Liceo Scientifico Statale Lorenzo Mascheroni), senior Megan Delaere (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester), junior Danika Fessenden (Cedar Springs, Mich. / Grand Rapids Northview), sophomore Maddy Flynn (Davison, Mich.), senior Rose Haney (Fenton, Mich.), senior Diana Muccioli (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North), redshirt freshman Ella Murawski (Brighton, Mich. / Hartland), sophomore Delaney Parker (Dexter, Mich.), junior Madelyn Peura (Farmington, Mich.), sophomore Kate Rhodes (Clarkston, Mich. / Lake Orion), sophomore Megan Unger (Belmont, Mich. / Rockford), sophomore Alicia Viaches (East Lansing, Mich. / Haslett), and sophomore Zoe Wood (Canton, Mich. / Plymouth).

Collecting their third-straight honor on the Excellence Team were Belmore (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.94), Delaere (Psychology - 3.90), Haney (Political Science - 3.77), and Muccioli (Design - 3.88). Two were recognized for a second-straight campaign, including Fessenden (Communication Sciences & Disorders - 3.55) and Peura (Nursing - 3.88). The remaining eight student-athletes were all first-year eligible Warriors. Those eight consisted of Crispo (Theater - 3.93), Flynn (Nursing - 3.97), Murawski (Biological Sciences Honors - 3.70), Parker (Finance - 3.87), Rhodes (Secondary Education - 3.65), Unger (Nursing - 3.56), Viaches (Biochemistry and Chemical Biology Honors - 3.63), and Wood (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.77).

Emily Hedley (Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom) received All-Academic Team accolades for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-3.49. She was eligible for the first time this season, with her major being Exercise & Sport Science and her GPA clocking in at 3.48.

The women's swimming and diving squad had the fifth-best cumulative term GPA (3.747) out of WSU's 18 sponsored teams for the Winter 2026 semester, trailing only men's tennis (3.868), women's soccer (3.781), softball (3.777), and women's fencing (3.766). Twenty (20) student-athletes were included on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for a term GPA of 3.5 or better, with eleven (11) of those seven achieving a perfect 4.0 term GPA.
