Women's Swimming and Diving Announces Third Batch of Recruits

DETROIT -- Wayne State University women's swimming and diving head coach Sean Peters, who enters his 30th season this fall, has announced his third batch of recruits for the 2026-27 season.  Coming to WSU this fall are Finley Cadwell (Northville, Mich.), Tuana Ozdemir (Antalya, Turkey / Mercersburg [Pa.] Academy), and Maya Shelton (Beverly Hills, Mich. / Birmingham Groves).

High School:  A 2026 graduate of Northville High School ... was a four-year letterwinner for coach Rich Bennetts ... received All-State recognition in four events as a senior (third in both 200 free relay and 200 medley relay, fifth in the 400 free relay, and eighth in the 200 IM) ... garnered All-KLAA honors in 2025 for the 400 free relay (second), 100 fly (fifth) and 200 IM (sixth in a personal-best time of 2:09.09) ... competed in the finals of both the 100 fly and 200 IM at the 2024 MHSAA Division 1 state finals meet as well as the 200 free relay and 400 free relay ... was 2024 KLAA champion in both the 200 IM and 400 free relay while finishing third in the 100 free ... participated in the 100 breast, 100 fly 200 free relay and 200 medley relay (fifth) at the 2023 MHSAA state finals ... was a member of the 2023 KLAA champion 200 medley relay ... qualified for the MHSAA state meet as a freshman in the 100 fly and 200 IM ... recorded a personal-best 100 breast time of 1:06.45 at the 2025 MCSA Summer Senior Cup Championships and a 200 breast time of 2:25.50 at the 2026 MCSA Senior Cup Championship ... notched a personal-best 200 fly time of 2:14.20 at the 2026 Michigan ULTRA Championship ... served as a team captain ... earned Academic accolades ... swims during the summer for the Newburgh Swim Club.
