First-Year Dash To Take Place Before Thursday's Football Home Opener

DETROIT -- The inaugural First-Year Dash will take place this Thursday evening prior to the 2026 Wayne State University football season opener at Tom Adams Field vs. Northwood.

First-Year Dash Details
  • All first-year students to meet with the NEW2WSU team at Chatsworth.
  • Students will need to download their event pass -- it's their ticket to the game! 
  • Upon entrance at Tom Adams Field, the first 500 students will receive a Gold Out t-shirt.
  • Students will be directed from the entrance to the football stadium along the visitors sideline and will meet at the Tom Adams Sign at the near the north end zone.
  • WSU Athletics Marketing interns will be there to help first-year students line up in the end zone.
  • Upon the PA announcement "three ... two ... one ... GO Warriors!", students will dash to the south end zone to the Warrior Village.
  • Gates to Tom Adams Field will open at 4:30 PM, with the first-year dash scheduled for 5:30 pPM.  Kickoff against the Timberwolves will be just after 6 PM.
  • First-year students are encouraged to arrive at Tom Adams Field NO LATER than 5 PM, to ensure all students can be scanned and receive their t-shirts.
