2008-09: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Won the national title in the 200 backstroke, setting an NCAA meet record (1:44.89), and led off the first-place 400 medley relay, which also broke the national record and edged runner-up Ouachita Baptist by .06 seconds (3:14.15) ... earned six First Team All-America awards altogether ... tied for third place in the 100 backstroke (48.72) and finished fifth in the 200 butterfly (1:49.30) and sixth in the 100 fly (48.51) ... led off the 200 medley relay which finished second and came in under the previous national record but .72 seconds behind Ouachita Baptist (1:27.97). GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Named GLIAC Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year, just the second Warrior in program history to earn the award (David Lutz, 2005) ... won conference titles in the 100 and 200 backstroke events and led off the 200 and 400 medley relays, both of which came in first place and set school and conference records ... set a GLIAC record in the 100 back (48.61) and broke the conference mark twice in the 200 back, once in prelims and again in the finals (1:45.64), as he successfully defended his title in the latter event ... helped the 200 free relay finish second and establish a new school record 1:22.39) ... finished in second place in the 200 butterfly (1:48.79) behind teammate Duarte Mourao after setting school and GLIAC records in the prelims. SEASON: Named GLIAC Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week after contributing three NCAA "A" qualifiers Oct. 25 at the Oakland Quadrangular ... led off the 200-yard medley relay which finished second in a time of 1:32.65 ... also won the 100-yard backstroke (50.33) and came in second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:50.97) ... earned CollegeSwimming.com National Division II Swimmer of the Week following his performance Nov. 15 against Calvin and Denison ... led off the first-place 400 medley relay (3:31.24) and broke the Matthaei pool record in the 100 backstroke in the process (50.79) ... also won the 200 butterfly (1:52.91) and the 200 backstroke (1:52.65) ... was named GLIAC Swimmer of the Week a second time (Dec. 9) following the Eastern Michigan Invitational, where he achieved or improved upon six NCAA [quote]A[quote] qualifying times and broke his own school records in both backstroke events ... lowered his 200 fly record again Jan. 23 at EMU (1:49.31) ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... voted WSU/EDS Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

2007-08: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Earned four All-America awards, including three First Team honors ... broke the school record in the 200 backstroke twice - once in the preliminary round, when he qualified third (1:48.80) and again in the finals, finishing fourth (1:48.01) ... placed fifth and set a school record in the 100 backstroke (49.86) ... finished 10th in the 100 butterfly (50.03) ... swam the butterfly portion of the 400 medley relay, which placed fourth (3:21.62). GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Won the 200 backstroke (1:50.72) and finished second in the 100 backstroke (51.25) and third in the 100 butterfly (51.24).

2006-07 (Kentucky): Posted a 14th-place time of 1:53.26 in the 200 butterfly Nov. 18 at the Nike Cup Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina ... finished third in the 100 backstroke (51.33) and fourth in the 200 back (1:56.24) Jan. 20 against Louisville.

2005-06 (UK): Finished 19th in the 100 backstroke at the SEC Championships ... at the Nike Cup Invitational placed ninth in the 200 butterfly (1:53.37), 10th in the 200 back (1:53.89), 18th in the 100 back (52.34) and 24th in the 100 fly (51.80) ... won the 200 fly and finished third in the 200 back in a dual meet against Cincinnati.

High School: A 2005 graduate of Bay City Western ... spent four years on the Warriors' varsity squad ... was a three-time All-American as well as an all-conference and all-state honoree ... served as team captain ... was a 25-time Michigan USS Champion ... also lettered in baseball at Western as a pitcher in 2004.
