Wayne State University freshman guard Alexis Miller (Howell, Mich.) has been selected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week.

Miller helped lead the Warriors to a 65-56 road victory at Central State last Tuesday (Nov. 11) by scoring a team-high 18 points, along with a game-best six assists.  In the decisive third quarter, she connected on back-to-back triples to turn a two-point deficit into a four-point advantage.  Later in the period, Miller had a key assist and a bucket.  In the fourth stanza with WSU leading by four, she again drained a three-pointer to increase the lead to seven.  With just over five minutes remaining in the game and WSU ahead by four points, Miller hit her fourth triple of the game (which turned out to be the game-winning points since it gave WSU 57 points and CSU only scored 56).  In the last minute of the game, MIller had a key assist then sealed the victory with a pair of free throws.

The Warriors conclude their pre-holiday schedule with a 5:30 p.m. contest at home on Wednesday vs. Notre Dame College.
