Painesville, Ohio -- The Wayne State University women's basketball team (5-13 overall, 5-7 GLIAC) concluded its road trip with its second victory in the three-game set with a 66-60 triumph at Lake Erie College (2-15 overall, 1-10 GLIAC).

The first half was a see-saw affair with four lead changes and three tied scores.

The Storm had their largest lead (six points) at 10-4 at the 14:19 mark following a pair of free throws by Sarah Wojciechowski.  Wayne State responded with an 18-4 run over the next seven-plus minutes to take an eight point lead at 22-14 with 6:53 left.  Sophomores Phaebre Colbert () and Paige Sickmiller (Romeo, Mich.) each had six points during the run.

Lake Erie knotted the game at 24 but WSU finished the half on an 8-5 spurt for a 32-29 advantage at intermission.

Seven of WSU's eight players scored in the first half, with both Colbert and Sickmiller leading the way with eight each.

Wayne State's lead remained between three and five points for the first four minutes of the second half, until Brittany Zele split a pair from the charity stripe.

The Warriors had a 14-0 run over the next five minutes for a 54-38 with just under 10 minutes remaining.

WSU's lead was never less than eight until Stephanie Rogers from Lake Erie made two foul shots at the 2:59 mark cutting the Warrior lead to six (62-56) with 2:59 left.

Neither team scored for the next 90 seconds until Rogers again made a pair of free throws making it a four-point contest (62-58) with 1:15 remaining.

After each team missed a field goal attempt, WSU freshman Lena Thomas () made two foul shots with 32.1 seconds left.  After a Rogers' lay-up, Warrior sophomore Amelia Davis (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) sealed the win with two foul shots at the 18.2 mark.
