ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team lost its second dual meet of the season,
175-118, at Division I foe Oakland University on Saturday afternoon.
Andrey Seryy (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), who earned an NCAA “B” cut in the 200 freestyle with a second-place time of 1:41.97, also won the 50 free (21.20) and the 100 free (46.70).
Nathan Hesche (Jackson, Mich.) finished third in both the 100 (52.89) and 200 (1:58.88) backstroke events. Other third-place finishers included
Cameron Weaver (Davison, Mich.) in the 1000 free (10:18.63) and
Kristian Larsen (Frederiksberg, Denmark) in the 500 free (4:50.11).
The diving corps swept both competitions.
Dylan Szegedi (Oregon, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) won on the one-meter board (264.00) and Darren Driesenga (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) took first on three-meter (266.48).
Wayne State's next dual meet is Friday night at Kalamazoo College.
