Men's Tennis Falls in GLIAC Tourney Championship

Warriors suffer 5-1 setback to Northwood University

The 37th-ranked Wayne State University men's tennis team (17-7) suffered a 5-1 setback to Northwood University (15-4) in the GLIAC Tournament Championship Match on Sunday.

Oscar Gamarra (Guayaquil, Ecuador) and Alec Attala (Clinton Twp., Mich.) improved their record as a doubles team to 6-1 after besting Jean Menard and Florian Boggia in the No. 3 spot, 8-6.

Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont.) and Melvin Joseph (Northville, Mich.) dropped their No. 1 doubles match with Antoine Pangaud and Valentin Bayle, 8-5. Joseph squandered a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Oliveira.

Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) and Michael FitzGerald (Grosse Ile, Mich.) fell to Marcus Oliveira and Marius Wahlier in the No. 2 position, 8-2. FitzGerald came up short in his No. 3 singles bout with Menard, 6-3, 6-4.

Eric Szydlowski (Canton, Mich.) was bested by Boggia in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
