Detroit, Mich. - The host Wayne State University women's tennis team (6-0, 6-0 GLIAC) continued its winning ways following a
9-0 victory over Saginaw Valley State University (0-4, 0-4 GLIAC) on Friday at Eastside Tennis and Fitness Club.
After sweeping doubles play, the Warriors took all six singles matches, including five in straight sets.
Senior
Kristina Goranskaya (Thornhill, Ontario / Northview Heights Secondary School) and freshman
Yahsha Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich. / West Bloomfield) both remained unbeaten (6-0) in GLIAC singles play as Goranskaya bested Yunjiao Shangguan at one singles, 7-5, 6-2, while Moore scored a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Charlotte Wong in the three slot.

Anne Li Briand (Repentigny, Que. / École Secondaire Félix-Leclerc) improved their conference doubles record to 5-0, defeating Wong and Annessa Campian at two doubles, 8-1.
In No. 4 singles, Briand (5-2 overall) went on to pick up a 6-0, 6-1 win over Bobbi Enos.
While the duo of Goranskaya and
Daniela Garcia-Diaz (Cali (Valle, Colombia) / Gimnasio, Britanico) (8-2 overall) battled to a 9-7 victory over Shangguan and Meghan Woody in one doubles, sophomore
Tanya Joseph (Northville, Mich. / Northville) and freshman
Haleigh McPeek (Lake Forest, Ill. / Lake Forest) triumphed 8-4 over Enos and Katie Piorkowski in three doubles.
Gracia-Diaz (4-1 overall) tallied a 6-3, 7-5 win over Woody at No. 2 singles and Joseph defeated Theresa Frederick, 6-1, 6-2, at six singles.
Sophomore
Jessica Kruczek (Detroit, Mich. / Lakeview) carded a 6-4, 3-6, (10-3) victory over Campian at five singles.
Next weekend the Warriors will play host to Lake Superior State on Friday at 1 p.m. and Michigan Tech on Sunday at 10 a.m.
