A 4-2 spurt by Ohio Dominican to start the second half put the hosts in front 37-36.  Five straight points by Sickmiller gave WSU the lead and started a 12-4 run which gave the Warriors a 48-41 lead with just under 15 minutes left.

Wayne State remained in front for nearly six minutes until the Panthers finished off a 13-1 run highlighted by Meredith Fox's 10 points.  ODU led 59-54 with eight minutes left, but the Warriors responded with a 14-3 stretch which included six points by junior forward Phaebre Colbert (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern).

WSU led 68-62 with 2:22 remaining, but an ODU triple made it a two-point game at 70-68 before junior forward Deanna Crumpton (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) had an offensive rebound and put-back for a four-point advantage.

After a lay-up by Panther Abby Glover, Colbert sealed the win with a pair of free throws.
