Women's Basketball Has Nine GLIAC All-Academic Honorees

The Warriors have had 83 GLIAC All-Academic honorees in the last nine years.

DETROIT -- The 2025-26 Wayne State University women's basketball squad had nine GLIAC All-Academic honorees.  The Warriors have had 83 GLIAC All-Academic honorees in the last nine years.

Criteria states that student-athlete must be an active member on their respective sport roster at the end of the season, and not a true freshman or a first-year transfer student.

Grade-point averages listed are calculated through the fall semester since that was the last grading period before the season ended.

The seven student-athletes represented on the All-Academic Excellence Team for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 were junior Annabel Ayrault (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North), senior Ashley Bower (Portland, Mich.), redshirt sophomore Lexi Boyke (Frankenmuth, Mich.), junior McKenna Ferguson (Grandville, Mich. / Byron Center), junior Emily Homan (Haslett, Mich.), sophomore Koko Sylvester (Toledo, Ohio / Start), and senior Jaci Tubergen (Hudsonville, Mich. / [Bowling Green]).

The trio of Ayrault (Psychology - 3.91), Boyke (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.76), and Ferguson (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.57) all were first-year eligible last season and thus made the Excellence Team for a second-straight campaign.  Bower (Nursing - 3.98) marked three years in a row on the Excellence Team, while both Sylvester (Design - 3.62) and Tubergen (Applied Health Sciences (Pre-Occupational Therapy) - 3.92) were newcomers to the squad this season as first-year eligible student-athletes.

A pair of student-athletes were included on the All-Academic Team for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-3.49.  They were senior Gabi Lutchka (Grass Lake, Mich.) and senior Taylor Thompson (Grand Blanc, Mich.).

Thompson (Mechanical Engineering - 3.37) was recognized for the third straight year, with Lutchka (Global Supply Chain Management - 3.16) posting her second straight season on the All-Academic Team after being first-year eligible last season.

The women's basketball team had a cumulative GPA of 3.532 for the Winter 2026 semester.  Three Warriors achieved a perfect 4.0 term GPA for the semester, while nine total on the roster were included on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for a term GPA of 3.5 of better.
