WSU is 2-1 on the road to start the season. Wayne State has won both road conference games, defeating Tiffin and Ohio Dominican in consecutive games on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, respectively. The Warriors lone road defeat was a 77-74 loss in the second game of the season at No. 15 Edinboro.

SERIES HISTORY
Wayne State beat Malone in its only other matchup, winning 66-60 on the road on Nov. 21, 2011.

SCOUTING MALONE
The Pioneers won the first three games (all non-conference) of their season, but have dropped three of five contests since. Malone is on a two-game skid after dropping league matchups to Northwood and Saginaw Valley. MU is 2-2 at home and 1-2 in conference games in its home gym.

Malone has allowed the fewest points per game of any team in GLIAC (51.8) and also leads the conference in opponents field goal percentage (34.0).

The Pioneers have a balanced scoring attack as five players average between 8.4 points and 10.4 points per game. Deborah Simmers, who averages 10.4 points per game, is the lone Malone player averaging in double figures. Logan Pastor leads the team in rebounding, assists and steals.

LAST TIME OUT
Talisha Bridges equaled a game-high with 19 points and Phaebre Colbert tallied her second-straight double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as WSU held off Lake Erie, 51-48.

Both LEC and the Warriors struggled out of the gates offensively with WSU 21-17 leading at halftime. Talisha Bridges scored 10 points and Deanna Crumpton scored all eight of her points in the second half. Kayla Bridges also posted a career-high 11 rebounds for WSU.

Wayne State made 14-of-21 free throws after halftime and went 23-for-33 from the line overall.

The Warriors shot a season-low 29.6 percent from the field, but were helped out by holding a large rebound advantage, 51-26.

ON THE BENCH
Carrie Lohr is in her second season as head coach of the WSU women's basketball program. Lohr is 15-17 in her Warrior coaching career.

Jason Mishler is 17-18 in his second season as head coach of the Malone women's basketball team.

REBOUND WARRIORS
Wayne State is first in the conference in rebounds per game (46.2), offensive boards per game (19.2) and is third in rebounding margin (+7.8). The Warriors have been out-rebounded just once this season (vs. Ashland).

WSU is also second in the GLIAC in blocked shots per game at 4.2.

UP NEXT
Following its contest with Malone, WSU returns home for six straight games at the Matthaei, including hosting the WSU Holiday Classic on Dec. 28-29.

The Warriors will face Urbana and Missouri-St. Louis in the tournament for their final two non-conference games of the season. GLIAC foe Northwood will also be at the tournament.
