LOUISVILLE, KY -- Thirtieth-Ranked Wayne State men's tennis got back on track, defeating Bellarmine at home
7-2. The Warriors (3-2) swept all three doubles matches and earned four of the six singles matches to seal the victory over the Knighst (2-3).
Junior
Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) batlled hard in his match against Bellarmine's Jacob Knagenhjelm at the top singles to win 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2.
Warrior Sophomore
Melvin Joseph (Northville, Mich.) rallied in his third set tie-breaker to defeat the Knights' Carlos Antonioli 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
Jason Chen (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) upped his personal winning streak to three with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Bellarmine's Jimmy Fernandez.
At doubles, the team of
Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont. / Assumption College HS) and Joseph set the tone for the sweep with a 8-6 win over the team of Knagenhjelm and Antonioli.
The Warriors are off until Friday, February 24, when they will travel Northern Kentucky, their third straight regional opponent.
