Men's Tennis Falls 6-1 at Toledo

Thomas Ducret was the only winner for the Warriors at singles.


TOLEDO -- The Wayne State men's tennis team dropped their second straight, falling at Toledo 6-1, in their last match before GLIAC play.

The Warriors' junior Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) rallied after dropping the first set to defeat the Rockets' Grant Adams 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to get the only point.

Toledo (10-6) swept all three doubles matches and won the other five singles matches.

WSU (3-4) Junior Jon Groszek (Dearborn, Heights, Mich. / Divine Child) fought hard at five singles. He dropped his match to Toledo's Ben Brocker 6-4, 7-6 (9).

The Warriors will open GLIAC play March 2 at Lake Erie. The match is scheduled for 3 PM in Mentor, Ohio.
