Detroit, Mich. -- The Wayne State Men's Tennis team officially opened the 2011-12 campaign facing the University of Detroit Titans at the Franklin Athletic Club in a dual meet. The Warriors entered the match ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings.
Unfortunately, the Titans (3-4) defeated the Warriors (0-1)
6-1.
Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) won the lone singles match at the number two position, defeating Nick Tolomei 6-3, 6-1.
Wayne State's number one doubles pair of
Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont./Assumption College HS) and
Melvin Joseph (Northville, Mich.) earned the doubles victory , downing Alex Latosinsky and Jay Joshi 8-6.
