Warriors swept by nation's 23rd-best Mocs

Orlando, Fla. -- The Wayne State men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Florida Southern College. The match was the last of the Warriors spring break trip through Florida.

The Warriors (7-6) dropped all nine matches, though junior Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) nearly salvaged a point at the top singles flight. The #23 Mocs' (5-8) Benoit Paradis beat Ducret 6-3 in the first game. In the second, Ducret rallied to force a tie-breaker in the second set. Pardis would win the second game 7-6 (7-5).

Ducret and partner senior Matt Fisher (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower) nearly won at the third doubles flight, coming up short 8-6 to Florida Southern's Nathan Leavitt and Charles Garneau.

Wayne State returns to Detroit March 23 and rejoins GLIAC play, hosting Michigan Tech.
