DETROIT -- The nation's 13th-ranked Northwood Timberwolves handed the Wayne State men's tennis team (13-9, 7-2 GLIAC) a 
9-0 setback, the Warrirors' second conference loss of the season.
Despite the loss, the Warriors finish third in the GLIAC regular season.
NU (12-0, 9-0 GLIAC) edged WSU in three close doubles flights. Junior duo 
Thomas Ducret and 
Oscar Gamarra were edged 9-8 after the tying the pro-set match at eight all.
At singles, Ducret rallied to force a third set super tie-breaker, but the Timberwolves' Teddy Mebounou edged Ducret 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 to give NU the 9-0 sweep.
Michael FitzGerald and Gamarra lost their matches 6-4, 6-4. 
Jason Chen fell in an extremely close 7-6, 7-6 contest against Hugo Lasserre.
The Warriors will head to Northwood this weekend for the GLIAC tournament, beginning Friday.
