WSU's junior duo of Yahsha Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich. / West Bloomfield) and Anne Li Briand (Repentigny, Que. / École Secondaire Félix-Leclerc) earned an 8-6 victory at the top flight in doubles, while the No. 3 pair of freshmen Andreea Mitrache (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Warren Cousino) and Lauren Hughes (Detroit, Mich. / Southfield) also secured an 8-2 win for the Warriors.

Needing three points for the victory, WSU got the first three wins in singles before Tiffin could amount a comeback.

Wayne State picked up wins at the first, third and fourth flights in singles. Moore won 7-5, 6-2 at the top singles flight, Mitrache earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles and sophomore Anastasia Burobina (Toronto, Ont. / Robert Bateman) posted a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 4 singles.

The Warriors lone defeat of the season came to the Timberwolves, losing 6-3 in Midland on Sept. 11, but the team wasn't at full strength in that loss.
