Lakeland, Fla. - The Wayne State men's tennis team (3-4) dropped a 7-2 decision at the hands of Florida Southern on Monday afternoon.

Trey Keating (Troy, Mich. / Troy) and Jason Chen (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) picked up the lone point for WSU in doubles play with their 8-6 win at third doubles. Melvin Joseph (Northville, Mich. / Northville ) and Michael FitzGerald (Grosse Ile, Mich.) were in a tight battle at second doubles before dropping that match 6-8.

Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont. / Assumption College HS) acquired the second point for the Warriors at top seeded singles with his 6-3, 6-4 victory.

FitzGerald and Joseph sent their matches at fourth and fifth singles to three sets before giving way late.

The Warriors next face Rollins College on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
