DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team earned a convincing victory over Calvin College on Friday in a dual meet held at Matthaei Natatorium.
The Warriors in their first home meet of the home season earned a 139-96 victory over Calvin.
Wayne State won nine of the 13 events on Friday night.
Elizabeth Rawlings (Armada, Mich. / Romeo) earned two individual events for the Warriors She was victorious in the one-meter (318.37) and three-meter (283.20) dives.
Elly Maleski (Cedar, Mich. / Traverse City West) claimed victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of :55.48 and placed third in the 50 freestyle (25.53).
Kristina Novichenko (Seversk, Russia / Saint-Petersburg) collected two individual wins, swimming to a victory in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.24. She also won the 100 butterfly with a time of :58.44.
Mallory Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich.) won the 1650 Freestyle 18:15.46 and
Emily Maraskine (Midland, Mich. / Dow) also won the 100 backstroke in a time of :59.71.
Gloria Martinez Perez (Merida, Spain / IES Carolina Coronado) won the 200 freestyle in 1:55.83 and
Veronica Loock (Rochester Hills, Mich.) took second place with a time of 18:47.10.
Skyler Muzichuck (Clinton Twp., Mich. / International Academy of Macomb) took third 1650 freestyle 18:59.29 and placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.99).
Kaylee Dolinski (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson) placed third in the 200 freestyle 2:02.99, and
Emily Heitchue (Royal Oak, Mich.) took second in the 50 freestyle (25.25).
Kei Cze Prentis (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Utica Eisenhower) placed second in both the 400 IM (4:48.20) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.69).
Marissa Swartz (Washington, Mich. / Romeo) placed third 400 IM (4:51.80) for the Warriors.
Wayne State also took victory in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Maleski, Martinez Perez, Manuela Ferrerira (Ibague, Colombia / Colegio Ingles), and Heitchue, recording a time of 1:48.28.
The Warriors return to the pool again Saturday, swimming in a meet at Ashland beginning at 1 p.m.
