Men's Tennis Opens GLIAC Schedule This Weekend

The Warriors open league action on the road with three matches in Ohio.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team opens its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this weekend with three matches in Ohio. The Warriors begin the three-match weekend Friday at Tiffin University.

WSU also faces the University of Findlay on Saturday and plays No. 47-ranked Ohio Dominican University on Sunday. Five of Wayne State's first seven league matches are on the road.

The Warriors are scheduled to play in 11 conference matches this spring. Wayne State had a 9-2 mark in the league last year, placing second in the regular season GLIAC standings.

Wayne State is 1-5 to start the season after facing some of the top teams in the nation in Florida. The Warriors competed against two of the Top 15 teams in the nation -- No. 8 Saint Leo and 15th-ranked Rollins College.

The Warriors open their home league schedule at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29 against Michigan Tech University. All six of WSU's home matches come in the final eight regular-season matches for the Warriors.
