NEW YORK, N.Y. – Ten members of the Wayne State University women's indoor track squad participated in the two-day (Jan. 30-31) Armory Track Invitational held at the New Balance Track & Field Center.
WSU participants set two school records on Saturday as junior
Erika Perry (Romeo, Mich.) eclipsed her previous mark in the weight throw with a toss of 16.80m (55-01.50), while the 4x400m relay quartet of sophomore
Dazmonique Carr (Lawnside, N.J. / Haddon Heights), freshman
Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington), sophomore
Imani Bush (Canton, Ohio / South) and sophomore
Leah Ellis (Battle Creek, Mich. / Central) crossed the finish line in a time of 3:56.06.
Redshirt freshman
Elizabeth Herriman (Adrian, Mich. / Sand Creek) has a throw of 12.38m in the shot put.
Freshman
Lauren Bohn (Windsor, Ont. / E.J. Lajeunesse Catholic) had a toss of 14.07m in the weight throw.
Redshirt freshman
Jewel Wilson (Voorhees, N.J. / Eastern) had a distance of 10.71m in the triple jump.
Carr and Ellis both competed in the 400m event and finished with times of 58.58 and 58.76, respectively.
Seals recorded a time of 9.27 in the 60m hurdles.
Sophomore
Kierra Johnson (Flint, Mich. / Brandon) and Bush both participated in the 60m dash. Johnson had a time of 8.031, while Bush finished in a time of 8.16.

Top performances were turned in by junior
Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.), who placed second in the 3k (10:04.32) with the fourth fastest time in school history.
Senior
Kayla Smade (Columbus, Mich. / St. Clair) recorded a second-place finish in the mile (5:03.73), which tied for the third fastest time in program history.
Junior
Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich.) set a personal best in the 3k (10:07.62), while redshirt freshman
Gabrielle Herriman (Adrian, Mich. / Sand Creek) set a PR in the shot put (12.11m). Junior
Anne Okonowski (Dearborn, Mich. / Divine Child) notched a personal best in the 5k (18:35.24).
Redshirt freshman
Sloane Brunner (Washington, Mich. / Romeo) placed seventh in the shot put (11.17m), while sophomore
Leah Coonrod (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Gull Lake) finished sixth in the 5k (18:11.62).

Lauren Gagnon (Waterford, Mich. / Mott) was fifth in the 3k (10:18.04), with sophomore
