ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Seven members of the Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad competed on Friday at Indiana's Hoosier Hills Invitational, while another nine members participated in the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale.
In Bloomington, Ind., sophomore
Christina Kollien (Alpena, Mich.) eclipsed the previous school mark in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.93. Freshman
Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) set a personal best in the same event at 9.05.
Sophomore
Imani Bush (Canton, Ohio / South) had a top 10 finish by placing eighth in the 200m (26.27).
At the GVSU Big Meet, junior
Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.) recorded a provisional time in the 5,000m event with a personal best of 17:15.67. It was the third fastest time in WSU history. Junior
Anne Okonowski (Dearborn, Mich. / Divine Child) and senior
Alyssa Auth (Eastpointe, Mich. / East Detroit) each set personal bests in the 5k race.
Senior
Kayla Smade (Columbus, Mich. / St. Clair) had the second fastest time in school history recording a 5:02.31 in the mile. Sophomore
Leah Coonrod (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Gull Lake) also had a personal best in the mile.
