HILLSDALE, Mich. – Twenty-two (22) members of the Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad competed on Friday and Saturday at the 2015 Hillsdale "Wide-Track" Classic.
A top performance was turned in by redshirt freshman
Elizabeth Herriman (Adrian, Mich. / Sand Creek), who set a school record in the shot put (12.51m/41-00.50).
Sophomore
Leah Ellis (Battle Creek, Mich. / Central) reached the semifinals of the 60m dash after running an 8.02 in prelims.
Sophomore
Leah Coonrod (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Gull Lake) placed seventh in the mile in a personal best time of 5:15.78.
Senior
Kayla Smade (Columbus, Mich. / St. Clair) finished ninth in the 3000m race in a time of 10:43.19.
Freshman
Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) qualified for the semifinals in the 60m hurdles where she set a personal best at 9.09.
Freshman pole vaulter
Han Dinh (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Stevenson) set a personal best at 3.00m (9-10.00).
Junior
Erika Perry (Romeo, Mich.) led WSU in the weight throw with a toss of 15.95m (52-04.00), while freshman
Rachel Kloski (Warren, Mich. / Fraser) led three Warriors competing in the pentathlon with 2,722 points.
Wayne State will send a split squad to two separate Friday-Saturday meets next weekend (Feb. 13-14). Part of the team will head to Allendale for the GVSU Big Meet, while other will travel to Bloomington, Ind. For the IU Hoosier Hills event.
