RALEIGH, N.C. -- Members of the Wayne State University women's track squad competed in four events on the second and final day of the 2015 Raleigh Relays.
Junior
Erika Perry (Romeo, Mich.) eclipsed her own school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 52.01m (170-07), which is the seventh longest throw in Division II this spring. Freshman
Lauren Bohn (Windsor, Ont. / E. J. Lajeunesse Catholic H.S.) also competed in the hammer (44.22m).
Sophomore
Leah Ellis (Battle Creek, Mich. / Central) set a personal best in the 400m hurdles recording the third fastest time in program history at 1:07.42.
The 4x100 relay team of
Kierra Johnson (Flint, Mich. / Brandon),
Imani Bush (Canton, Ohio / South), Ellis and
Dazmonique Carr (Lawnside, N.J. / Haddon Heights) ran a 50.15, while the 4x400 relay quartet of Carr, Ellis,
Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) and Bush had a time of 4:01.67.
CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Eight members of the Warrior women's track team participated in the Cedarville Outdoor Open on Saturday and scored 29.5 points.
Redshirt freshman
Jewel Wilson (Voorhees, N.J. / Eastern) was second in the triple jump (10.42m), placed fifth in the 100m (13.38), and led off the third-place 4x100 relay (52.28). She was joined on the relay by freshmen
Rachel Kloski (Warren, Mich. / Fraser) and
Sydney Vaughn (Canton, Ohio / South), and sophomore
Callie Brower (Hopkins, Mich.).
In addition to the relay, Kloski competed in the long jump (4.84m), 100m hurdles (17.40) and javelin (21.60m). Vaughn also participated in multiple events placing 19th in the javelin (16.34m) and finishing in a tie-for-fifth in the long jump (4.85m), as did Brower. Callie was ninth in the long jump (4.77m) and fifth in the high jump (1.43m).
Freshman
Dallas Porter (Royal Oak, Mich.) placed 8th in the discus (32.48m) and 10th in the shot put (9.69m).
Rookie
Han Dinh (Sterling Hts., Mich. / Stevenson) was ninth in the pole vault (2.90m).
Freshman
Haley Reynolds (Riverview, Mich.) was 13th in the 5k (19:58.57), while classmate
Kaley Kauff (Allen Park, Mich.) was 18th (20:14.58).
