KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis squad fell, 7-0, to Division I opponent, Western Michigan University on Sunday evening at the West Hills Athletic Club.
DOUBLES RESULTS - Sophomore
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) and junior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) lost to Ruben Greiner and Stephen Payne, 6-4, at the first doubles flight, while junior
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) and freshman
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) fell, 6-4, to Jefta Kecic and Jimmy Beckwith at No. 2 doubles.
- Senior
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France / Martin Luther King) and freshman
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) dropped, 6-4, to Daniel Loebel and Matt Hamilton at the third doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS- Charriere lost in two sets (6-3, 6-3) to Eric Olivarez at the third singles flight, while Vane was defeated, 6-3, 6-4, by Andrew Cahn at No. 2 singles.
- Carlson fell, 6-4, 6-2, to Nick Schnobel in the fifth singles position, while Reed posted a two set loss (6-1, 6-4) to Beckwith at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) lost, 6-1, 6-4, to Payne at the sixth singles flight, while Fazyl Kechai fell, 6-0, 6-4, to Matej Svjetlicic at the first singles flight.
UP NEXT- The Warriors will host Northwestern Ohio in early March at the WSU Tennis Courts.
