SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis squad lost to Division I opponent, Detroit Mercy, 6-1 on Sunday evening at the Franklin Athletic Club. Freshman
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England / Peter Symonds College) earned the Warriors lone point at the second singles flight.
DOUBLES RESULTS - Sophomore
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England / Peter Symonds College) and junior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) recorded a 6-4 victory over Patryk Koscielski and Nicholas Solarewicz at No. 1 doubles.

Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France / Martin Luther King) and freshman
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) fell, 7-5, to Griffin Mertz and Chance Conley at the second doubles flight, while Vane and sophomore
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England / Priory) lost 6-0 to Ismail Kadyrov and Rafael Orantes at the third doubles spot.
SINGLES RESULTS - Vane defeated Orantes in a super tiebreaker, 12-10 (7-6, 4-6), at the top singles flight.
- Carlson fell in a super tiebreaker, 6-4 (6-3, 2-6), to Adam Zychowicz at No. 4 singles, while Ruocco lost to Conley, 6-2, 7-5.
- Fazyl Kechai lost in two sets (6-3, 6-3) to Nathan Ponton, while Sammons was defeated by Mertz, 6-3, 6-2, and Reed fell to Solarewicz, 6-2, 6-1.
UP NEXT- WSU will compete against Toledo on Saturday at the Shadow Valley Racquet Club. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
