WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Wayne State University men's tennis team (3-5 overall) fell, 8-1, at No. 26 Rollins on Saturday afternoon at the Tiedtke Tennis Complex in Winter Park, Fla.
DOUBLES RESULTS - Senior
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) and freshman
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) lost, 8-5, to Patrick Sell and Ziad Melhaoui at the third doubles flight, while freshman
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) and junior
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) were defeated, 8-4, by Anton Bettink and Adrian Di Felice at No. 1 doubles.
- Sophomore
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) and junior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) were shutout, 8-0, to Robin Marchione and Ahmed Albitar at the second doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS - Vane topped Casey Austgen (0-6, 6-1, 6-4) at No. 3 singles, while sophomore
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) fell in a super tiebreaker, 10-5 (6-2, 4-6) to Hayden Rodrigue at the sixth singles flight.
- Kechai lost in two-sets, 7-6(4), 6-1, to fourth-ranked Bettink at the first singles position, and Charriere dropped two sets (7-5, 6-1) to No. 44 Sell at No. 2 singles.
- Reed was defeated (6-2, 6-3) by Marchione at the fourth singles flight, while Carlson was beaten, 6-4, 6-2, by Albitar at No. 5 singles.
