DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (10-11 overall, 5-2 GLIAC) topped Northwood, 5-4, on Wednesday afternoon at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts in Midtown Detroit. The triumph was head coach
Bryan Morrow's first career victory over the Timberwolves. Sophomore
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) posted a two-set win (7-5, 6-4) over Lorenz Bialkowski at No. 5 singles to clinch WSU's victory.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- Freshman
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) and senior
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) bested Konstantin Zhukov and Hayden Drury, 8-3, at the third doubles flight, while sophomore
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) and junior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) won a close, 9-8 (8-6), win over Daniel Haas and David Reinauer at No. 2 doubles.

Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) and freshman
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) fell 9-7 to Sebastian Eguez and Austin Woody at the first doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Carlson defeated Reinauer in two sets (6-0, 6-4) at the sixth singles flight, and Reed topped Haas, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4 singles.
- Vane lost in three sets, 7-5, 2-6, 2-6, to Zhokov at the third singles position, while Charriere and Kechai were beaten by Woody (7-6, 6-2) and Eguez ( 7-5, 6-1) at No. 2 and No. 1 singles, respectively.
