DETROIT – The Wayne State University men's swim and dive team fell 187-110 to Oakland University in Friday's season opener at the Matthaei Natatorium.
RELAY RESULTS

Sasha Palazzo (Verona, Italy), junior
Rasmus Olsen (Kastrup, Denmark) and sophomore
Ryan Katulski (Novi, Mich. / Novi) won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:31.47. Drobnych, Palazzo and Katulski then joined senior
Tyler Roshak (Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison) for a third place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:09.23.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
-Senior
Khayman Jones (Adrian, Mich. / Adrian), sophomore
Nate Michna (Belleville, Mich. / Belleville) and freshman Max Wyche (Detroit, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse North) went 2-3-4 in the 1-meter diving. Jones scored a 332.40, with Michna earning a 214.50 and Wyche scoring 204.75. That same order stood in the 3-meter diving, with Jones scoring 248.85, followed by a 210.39 from Michna and a 198.22 from Wyche.
-Drobnych won the 100 back, finishing with a time of 50.11, while Olsen claimed the top spot in the 200 fly (1:54.93). Katulski was the champion in the 100 free, clocking in at 47.59. Roshak was not far behind in second (47.62). Sophomore Joao Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was the 200 IM winner with a time of 1:56.29.
-Palazzo was second in the 100 breast with a time of 56.54, while Katulski was the runner-up in the 50 free (21.28). Drobnych claimed second in the 200 back (1:52.70).
-In the 200 breast, Palazzo and Ribeiro went 2-3 (2:08.96 and 2:11.17, respectively).
-The 100 fly saw a second place finish from Olsen (51.09),
-Sophomore
Leonardo de Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was third in the 1000 free (9:58.62).
UP NEXT
The Warriors will travel to GLIAC opponent Ashland on Nov. 3 for a tri-meeting, facing the Eagles as well as Tiiffin University. The event is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
