GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving squad (3-1 overall) recorded a 146-97 triumph Friday night at Calvin College. The Division III Knights were ranked 17th nationally by the CSCAA.
RELAYS
WSU won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:51.12. The winning quartet consisted of junior
Emily Marginean (Tecumseh, Ont. / Riverside S.S.), freshman
Leticia Camilo Lemos (São Paulo, Brazil), freshman
Haley Groteler (West Ottawa, Mich.), and junior
Emma Weber (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Portage Central).
The Warriors also took first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:38.41. The winning foursome featured sophomore
Aliza Durack (West Bloomfield, Mich.), Weber, junior
Lezlie Bueno Estrada (Chihuahua, Mexico) and senior
Makayla Myers (Hudsonville, Mich.).
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS
Groteler won both the 200 free (1:54.78) and 100 fly (57.36).
Bueno Estrada claimed the top spot in the 50 free (24.15).
Lemos placed first in the 400 IM (4:37.98), just ahead of sophomore
Kate Svisco (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Eisenhower), who finished in a time of 4:39.62.
Freshman
Jia Yi Koh (Subang Jaya, Malaysia) won both the 100 free (52.38) and 100 breast (1:05.44).
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Junior
Ellie Dean (Midland, Mich. / Dow) placed second in both the 1650 free (18:19.27) and 500 free (5:24.36).
Freshman
Amanda Hurchalla (Mount Clemens, Mich. / Fraser) finished second in both the one-meter diving event (243.95) and the three-meter diving (246.30).
Myers placed second in the 100 fly (1:00.12).
Marginean finished second in the 100 back (1:01.13).
Svisco earned another runner-up finish, with a time of 1:08.16 in the 100 breast.

Wayne State's next meet will be the Eastern Michigan Invitational on Dec. 1-2.
