WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (2-5) was defeated by Rollins College (4-4), 7-2 at the Bert W. Martin Tennis Complex, on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Mats Westkamp (Born, Germany) (7-6 (8-6), 6-1) won his No. 1 singles match against Rollins' Ahmed Albitar. Teammate Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) lost 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 in the No. 2 singles match.
- Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) (1-6, 5-7, 5-7) and Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) (1-6, 5-7) both lost to their No. 3 and No. 4 counterparts from Rollins, respectively.
- Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) (6-1, 1-6, 2-6) and junior Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) (0-6, 6-3, 4-6), were defeated in their No. 5 and No. 6 matches, respectively.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- The Carlson/Reed team fell to their No. 1 double counterparts 8-6.
- The Westkamp/Mertz duo was beaten by the Tars No. 2 double team 8-5.
- Charriere and Vane teamed up to win their No. 3 doubles matchup 8-1.
