ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (3-7) split their doubleheader this afternoon, losing to Florida Southern (7-5) 5-4, and defeating Millersville University (0-7) 9-0.
MATCH ONE vs. FLORIDA SOUTHERN (L, 4-5)
SINGLES RESULTS

Mats Westkamp (Born, Germany) (6-4, 6-1), and teammate
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively.

Taylor Vane (Southampton, England ) (4-6, 3-6),
Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) (4-6, 5-7) and
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) (0-6, 0-6) lost their No. 3, 5 and 6 singles matches, respectively.

Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) won his No. 4 singles matchup against Florida Southern 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- The Carlson/Reed team fell to their No. 1 double counterparts 3-8.
- Charriere and Vane were defeated in their No. 2 doubles matchup 3-8.
- The Westkamp/Mertz duo teamed up to beat Florida Southern's No. 3 double team 8-3.

SINGLES RESULTS
- Charriere won by default at the top flight of singles.
- Westkamp, Mertz,
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England), Reed and
Nicholas Ang (Rochester, Mich.) all won comfortably in their singles play.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- The Charriere and Carlson pair won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
- At No. 2 doubles, Westkamp and Mertz shutout their opponents, 8-0.
- Reed and Vane also won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
