DETROIT – The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day with its final dual meet of the 2017-18, falling 172-101 to Eastern Michigan Saturday afternoon.
RELAYS
Junior
Dima Drobnych (Kryvyi, Rih, Ukraine), sophomore
Sasha Palazzo (Verona, Italy), junior
Rasmus Olsen (Kastrup, Denmark), and sophomore
Ryan Katulski (Novi, Mich.) were the top finishers in 1:32.45.
Katulski, Roshak, Drobnych and Palazzo were the winners of the 200 free relay in 1:25.10.
INDIVIDUAL WINNERS
Sophomore Leo de Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was the top finisher in the 1000 free with a time of 9:57.85.
Palazzo's 56.68 in the 100 breastsroke was a good enough for the top spot.
Katulski (21.22) claimed the 50 free.
Senior
Khayman Jones (Adrian, Mich) won three-meter diving with a score of 286.21.
Olsen took the 200 IM in 2:01.01.
TOP PERFORMERS
In the 100 free, Katulski was second with a time of 47.25. Senior
Tyler Roshak (Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison) was right behind him in 47.58.
The 200 backstroke included a runner-up finish for Drobnych (1:53.20).
Olsen was second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.26.
UP NEXT
The Warriors will resume action on Wed., Feb. 14, traveling to Jenison, Mich. for the start of the GLIAC Championships. That event will run through Sat., Jan. 17.
