DETROIT –
The Wayne State University (6-2 overall) won its second straight home contest Friday, defeating guest Northwestern Ohio 9-0 at the Multipurpose Indoor Facility.

DOUBLES RESULTS
Westkamp and Vane paired in the first doubles slot, winning 8-4 over Radu Popa and Justin Baciu. At No. 2 doubles, Mertz and Reed won 8-5 over Artur Culicovschi and Gjorgji Popovski. The final flight was claimed by Sammons and Karcz, who won 9-8 (7-3) Marcos Salazar and Lars Kaplusch.
SINGLES RESULTS
Westkamp was a 7-5, 6-1 win over Popa in the first flight.
Vane defeat Baciu, 6-4, 6-2, in the second flight.
At No. 3, Mertz defeated Culicovschi (6-1, 6-2).
Karcz claimed a 6-0, 6-2 win over Popovski in the fourth flight.
Reed took down Salazar at No. 5, 6-2, 7-5.
Sammons bested Schmitz 6-4, 6-1 in the sixth flight.

Wayne State will return to the road, playing outdoor tennis for the first time in 2018 in the Sunshine State. WSU will play five straight matches in Florida, starting with a neutral site contest with James Madison in Orlando on Thursday. First serve is slated for 11:30 a.m.
