2018 Football Position Previews - Tight Ends

DETROIT -- Over the next few weeks, we will continue previewing each position on the 2018 Wayne State University football team with each position coach highlighting their respective units. Graduate assistant tight ends coach Cheyne Lacanaria is featured in this segment.

This year's contingent features a graduate student, a senior, a junior, a sophomore, a redshirt freshman and a true freshman as all five tight ends from 2017 return.

Preston Pelham (Tecumseh, Mich.), who graduated in four years, has played in 30 games, while making 11 starts for the Warriors. He is a three-year GLIAC All-Academic honoree who caught a touchdown pass in last year's season opener at Walsh.

Senior Logan Smith (Norton Shores, Mich. / Mona Shores), who can play both tight end and wide receiver, has appeared in 26 contests in his three years at WSU, making two starts.

Junior Luke Ketterman (Maumee, Ohio / Toledo St. Francis de Sales) has seen action in 19 contests in his first two seasons, making five starts.

Sophomore Steven Glenn (Lincoln Park, Mich.) is a multi-dimensional football player that caught a first down pass one week at Ferris State, then played at defensive end the following Saturday against Grand Valley State.

Nick Poterack (Byron Center, Mich.) redshirted a year ago and will look to make an impact this year, while Aidan Martini (Grand Blanc, Mich.) will most likely redshirt due to the depth at tight end.
