DETROIT -- The Wayne State University cheerleading squad will hold tryouts for the 2019-20 season on Saturday, May 4th, in the Matthaei.

The 2018-19 cheer team placed second in the nation at the National Cheerleaders Association Championships, missing first place by 3/10 of a point.  This was an improvement from the squad's seventh-place finish in 2018.

**You MUST turn in a copy of your physical prior to May 1st in order to participate at tryouts.  The physical itself must be dated ON or AFTER March 4, 2019.  You can: email a copy to WSUCheerTeam@gmail.com; fax it to 313-577-5996, ATTN: WSU Cheer; or drop it off at the Matthaei (5101 John C. Lodge).

What to wear: -Black Spandex/Nike Pros
                         -Black sports bra or black fitted tank top
                         -White cheer shoes and white crew socks
                         -Game day makeup and hair

You will be judged on the following:  -WSU game day chants and dances (taught at tryouts)

                                                          -Stunting skills and technique
                                                          -Standing and running tumbling skills and technique
