ZaZearra Carter Named Head Coach of Cheerleading Program

DETROIT -- ZaZearra Carter has joined the Wayne State University Athletic Department as the head coach of the cheerleading program ahead of the 2023-24 season.

"We're excited to have ZaZearra as the Head Cheer Coach for the Warriors," said Associate Athletics Director for Marketing & Promotions Torria Robinson. "ZaZearra is passionate about cheerleading, what it means to the support of Wayne State athletics and that was evident throughout the hiring process."

Originally from Detroit, Carter cheered (National Cheerleaders Association - NCA) and did STUNT competitively at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
