Men's Swimming Signs Trevor Jones For 2021-22

DETROIT -- Wayne State University men's swimming and diving head coach Sean Peters, who is in his 24th year with the Warriors, has announced the signing of Trevor Jones (Farmington, Mich.) to a National Letter of Intent.  Peters, a 10-time GLIAC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year honoree, has led WSU to nine GLIAC titles on the men's side, plus 12 top-eight finishes at the NCAA Championships in his first 22 seasons (NCAA Championships were not completed in 2020).

High School:  Will be a 2021 graduate of Farmington High School ... was a four-year varsity swimmer for coach Drew Hansz ... qualified for the 2020 MHSAA Division 2 state championship meet, which was canceled due to COVID-19, in the 200 Free (#2 seed), 100 Fly (#6 seed), 400 Free Relay (#1 seed), 200 Free Relay (#2 seed) and 200 Medley Relay (#2 seed) ... won a state title in 2019 as a member of the 200 Free Relay (along with current Warrior Brody Jamieson) ... finished ninth in the 100 Fly (50.60) at the 2019 MHSAA Division 1 state championship meet, and swam anchor on the fourth-place 400 Free Relay ... placed 14th in the 200 Free at the 2018 MHSAA Division 1 state meet ... also competed in the 100 fly, anchored the fourth-place 200 Free Relay, and was the third swimmer on the third-place 400 Free Relay ... won Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red Division titles in the 200 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay as a junior ... holds school records for 200 Free (1:41.42 at 2019 Oakland County meet), 200 IM (1:54.14 at 2020 OAA Red Division League Championship), 100 Fly (49.99 at 2019 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals), 500 Free (4:38.21 at 2019 OAA Red Division League Championship), 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay ... set a personal-bests in the 50 Free (21.21 at the 2019 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals), 100 Free (47.01 at 2019 meet at Seaholm) and 200 Fly (1:50.55 at the 2019 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals) ... was a USA Swimming Junior National Qualifier ... received NISCA All-American recognition in both 2018 and 2019 ... recipient of the Farmington Public Schools Superintendents Award in 2017 ... was a four-time FHS Academic Letterwinner ... earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American recognition in both 2019 and 2020 ... was a two-year OAA Scholar-Athlete ... garnered the 2020 AP Distinguished Scholar award ... swims during the summer for dROP Aquatics and the Farmington Glen Aquatic Club.
