Men's Swim and Dive Wins Against SVSU and NMU

Luka Cvetko swims two NCAA B-Standard qualification times.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.-- The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team tallied victories over Saginaw Valley State (215-73) and Northern Michigan University (160-138) on Saturday afternoon. 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Freshman Alex Capizzo (Fraser, Mich.) earned a first in the 200 fly (1:53.44) with freshman Michael Wolsek (Trenton, Mich.) placing third (1:55.86).

Sophomore Luka Cvetko (Varazdin, Croatia) placed first in the 50 free and swam a NCAA B-standard qualification time of 20.07.  Not far behind in second was junior Stewart Nowinski (Macomb, Mich. / L'anse Creuse North) (20.94) and in third was freshman Brody Jamieson (Farmington, Mich.) (20.96).

Hussain Alzaid (Kuwait City, Kuwait) earned a first place in the 200 breast (2:07.28).

Capizzo earned a second place in the 200 IM (1:57.11).

Sophomore Casey Dolen (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Dexter) placed third in the 200 free (1:45.72).

Redshirt junior Franz Mueller (Brandenburg, Germany) earned a second place in the 100 back (49.90).

Andrew Ceely earned a third place in the one-meter dive (211.05) and came in second in the three-meter (198.65).

Casey Dolan (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Skyline) earned a third place in 200 free (1:45.72)

Cvetko notched a win in the 100 free and swam a NCAA B-standard qualification time of 45.40.  Mueller placed second (45.58).

Wolsek placed first in the 100 fly, swimming a NCAA B-standard qualification time of 48.58.  Freshman Collin Che (Midland, Mich. / Dow) came in second (50.59) and sophomore Josh Mahaney (Saline, Mich.) followed in third (51.71).

RELAY RESULTS
WSU notched a victory in the 200 Free relay (1:22.17).  The winning quartet included Mueller as the lead, Jamieson, Nowinski and Che as anchor.

Wayne State also swam the fastest 400 medley relay (3:20.31).  The group consisted of Mueller, sophomore Hans Anderson (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson), Wolsek, and Cvetko.
