UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.-- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team notched victories over Saginaw Valley State (198-97) and Northern Michigan University (173-123) on Saturday afternoon.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Senior
Sophie Montesanti (Howell, Mich.) claimed first place in the 1650 free (18:02:57) and second in the 500 free (5:17.83).
Freshman
Isidora Sekaric (Windsor, Ont.) claimed first in the 200 free (1:55.12).
Sophomore
Maddy Chorley (Burton, Mich./ Davison) earned the top spot in both the 100 back (57.52) and the 200 back (2:06.22).
Senior
Jia Yi Koh (Subang Jaya, Malaysia) placed first in the 100 breast (1:04.88), earned first in the 200 IM (2:09.66) and second in the 200 breast (2:21.63).
Sekaric placed second in the 100 free (53.25) with sophomore
Marina Tarlev (Athens, Greece) finishing in third (53.58).
Senior
Haley Groteler placed first in the 100 fly (56.89) with Chorley placing third (58.98). Groteler also claimed a first place in the 50 free (24.23).
Senior
Amanda Hurchalla (Mount Clemens, Mich. / Fraser) earned a second-place finish in the three-meter diving event (225.70 points) and freshman
Mikaela Senkus (Macomb, Mich.) placed third (209.45 points).
Sophomore
Abby Warner (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Eisenhower) placed third in the 200 fly (2:13.49).
RELAY RESULTS
WSU notched a victory in the 200 free relay (1:22.17). The winning team included Groteler as the lead off, Tarlev,
Allison Lennig (Canton, Mich.), and Sekaric as the anchor.
Wayne State had the fastest 400 medley relay (3:50.71). The group consisted of Chorley, Koh, Groteler, and Tarlev.
