Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. -- The No. 2-seeded Wayne State University women's tennis squad (11-7 overall) won 4-1 against seventh-seeded Ashland University (4-7 overall) in the GLIAC Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon at the Midland Tennis Center.
 
DOUBLES RESULTS
 
Seniors Irena van Meer (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Brianna Douglas (Dayton, Ohio / Chaminade Julienne) won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
 
At No. 3 doubles, freshman Suki Mandair (Dexter, Mich. / Ann Arbor Skyline) and sophomore Sabrina Laynes (Saginaw, Mich. / Heritage) won 6-1.
 
SINGLES RESULTS
 
At No. 1 singles, senior Linda Liong (Sarawak, Malaysia) won 7-6 (3), 6-4.
 
At No. 4 singles, freshmen Melanie Zampardo (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / University Liggett) won her match, 6-4, 7-6 (2).
 
At No. 6 singles, Laynes won, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Douglas fell at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
