Warrior Football and Volleyball return to Midtown Detroit for their 2021 campaigns. It will be a fun-filled weekend of Warrior Athletics as the football team takes the field on Thursday, September 2nd against Slippery Rock, 655 days after its last game. After a shortened Winter 2021 season, the volleyball team hosts the Warrior Invitational on Friday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 4th. Fall Outdoor Sports
- There is the expectation that all patrons will be masked. A limited number of individually wrapped disposable masks will be available for fans at the game entrance.
- Fans are encouraged to stay home if they are feeling sick.
Fall Indoor Sports
- Indoor sporting events in the Matthaei Center during the Fall of 2021 will be limited to 250 fans.
- Masks are required for all fans attending an indoor sporting event at the Matthaei Center. A limited number of individually wrapped disposable masks will be available for fans at the game entrance.
- Fans are required to fill out and pass the Wayne State Guest Daily Screener before attending any indoor Wayne State athletic event in the Matthaei Center. The daily screener will include a question about vaccination status, which will be checked upon entrance at any WSU Athletics indoor game or match.
- Fans are encouraged to stay home if they are feeling sick.
Streaming
New this year, all home Warrior Football and Volleyball games will stream for free at
wsuatletics.com/watch!
Digital Tickets
Changes have been made to our ticket operations to limit contact between guests and colleagues. Fans can skip the line and purchase digital tickets at
wsuathletics.com/tickets. Printed tickets will be available at will-call for a small fee or at the box office window on gamedays. In addition, tickets will now be scanned for all fans. WSU Athletics strongly suggests purchasing contactless tickets prior to the game. The Warrior Box Office accepts both Visa and Master Card. The Tom Adams Field and Matthaei Box Offices and Will Call will open two hours before the game. Player/ Coach guest tickets will be available starting 60 minutes before the game. Gates open 90 minutes before the game at both Tom Adams Field and the Matthaei.
Parking
Parking is free in Lot 50 on gamedays. Lot 50 opens three hours prior to the game. Please limit one parking space per vehicle. For football games, fans should plan to arrive at Tom Adams Field early on gameday to tailgate with us. Please note, Lot 50 usually reaches capacity about two hours before game-time. Overflow parking is available across the Lodge in Parking Structure 2 for $7.50 (prices are subject to change by WSU Parking). Fans can take the footbridge outside of Structure 2 over to the Athletic Campus. Fans who park in the University Foods parking lot are subject to be towed per University Foods policy and postings. WSU Athletics is not responsible if your car is towed out of the University Foods parking lot.
Bag Policy
To uphold health and safety protocols, minimize contact, and ensure a more seamless entry process, Wayne State Athletics has adopted a no bag policy. Exceptions to this policy include bags needed due to a medical necessity including diaper bags, breast pumps, and other medical devices. Single Strollers and camera bags are also permitted. In addition, single compartment wallets smaller than 5" x 7" x 1.5", with or without a handle or strap are permitted.
Prohibited Items
- Alcohol
- Aerosol cans
- Animals (except ADA complaint service animals or service animals in training)
- All bags and purses, and clutches apart from medical, diaper bags, or strollers
- Beach balls or other inflatable items
- Outside food or beverage
- Fireworks, firearms, or other weapons
- Fishing nets or poles
- Frisbees
- Hard sided cups, thermos, or coolers
- Knives of any size, shape, or variety (box cutters, scissors, etc.)
- Marijuana or illegal narcotics, including accessories or paraphernalia associated with marijuana or illegal narcotics use
- Markers and paint
- Helmets, or any costume items that cover the face
- Skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, segways, and scooters
- Squirt guns of any kind
- Sticks, including signs attached to sticks
- Stools or folding chairs (seat cushions are permissible)
- Unmanned aerial vehicle (i.e. drones)
Guests are encouraged to take non-permitted items back to their car. Items left at the gate are not the responsibility of WSU Athletics. WSU Athletics has a no re-entry policy. Guests who exit the venue will not be permitted to re-enter without purchasing a new ticket.
